BLESSED BLESSINGS
Now the Lord had said to
Abram: "Get out of your country, From your family And from your father's
house, To a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I
will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I
will bless those who bless you … Genesis 12:1-3
God desires that all of His children
be a blessing to others. In the statement about Abraham in Genesis 12:1-3,
God shows us that we can be a blessing by being blessed by Him.
Abraham was told to get out of the country in which he lived and if he did,
he would be blessed and he would be a blessing. In the case of Abraham, he
would be a blessing to all the earth because he was making the way for the
coming of Jesus to provide salvation and abundant life to all the earth.
In the same manner, when any of God’s children follow His guidance, they
will be blessed and they will be a blessing.
Hebrews 11:8 says that Abraham obeyed God by faith. God calls us to do
things that we must do by faith because we do not have the wisdom or
strength to do them. When we respond to God’s leadership by faith, God
blesses us and we become a blessing to others.
Suppose that this week every member of your church will live by faith, be
blessed by God and be a blessing to others. What would the atmosphere be as
your people gather for worship next Sunday? A spirit of praise would fill
your building.
Believers have the Holy Spirit living in them. If we will continue to
receive the filling of the Spirit by living out our oneness with Christ, we
will continue to respond to God’s leadership by faith. God will continue to
bless us and we will be a blessing to others.
